Population Health

This course introduces the student to population-focused care with emphasis on health promotion and disease and injury prevention across the lifespan. Relationships between the determinants of health to health, illness, disease, disability and mortality are examined. Concepts of cultural and spiritual sensitivity, ethical decision making, disaster planning and preparedness, including mass casualty disasters, and advocating for environmental and social justice for improving population health are emphasized. Three credit hours theory. Must be taken concurrently with NSG 453. This course is for RN-BSN students only..
