American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians

Purpose Statement: 

The Baptist Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine (BUCOM) Chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians (ACOP) is dedicated to advancing pediatric osteopathic medicine through education, advocacy, and service. Aligned with BUCOM’s mission, vision, and values, this chapter fosters the development of competent, compassionate, and ethical future physicians committed to improving pediatric health, particularly in underserved communities.

American Muslim Medical Students Association

Purpose Statement:

AMMSA is established for the expressed purpose of providing a spiritually focused community for medical students to uplift themselves and their community. As such, AMMSA will mentor future physicians, give back to surrounding communities, and work on inner growth. AMMSA understands and is committed to fulfilling its responsibilities of abiding by BUCOM policies and procedures.

Anesthesiology Interest Group

Purpose Statement: 

The purpose of BUCOM Anesthesia Club is to provide an inclusive organization for medical students with the mission to prepare future physicians who are committed to improving the health of the diverse populations in the Mid-South region of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi with a special emphasis on anesthesia in underserved urban and rural areas. To advance this mission, BUCOM Anesthesia Club prepares students to transform health care through exceptional patient centered care, while maintaining integrity, professionalism, continuous improvement, and service as an expression of our Christian values. BUCOM Anesthesia Club will allow students to expand their understanding of anesthesia, while having the opportunity to network with local physicians practicing in the field.

Christian Medical & Dental Association

Purpose Statement: 

The purposes of this organization are to encourage, educate, and equip Christian health care professionals to glorify God by following Christ, serving with excellence and compassion, caring for all people, and advancing Biblical principles of health care within the Church and throughout the world.

Dermatology Interest Group

Purpose Statement: 

The purpose of this organization is to curate interest in the field of Dermatology, provide educational and networking opportunities, and support students pursuing careers in dermatology through mentorship, hands-on experiences, and community outreach.

Emergency Medicine Interest Group

Purpose Statement:

The purposes of this organization are to serve as the official organization for students interested in emergency medicine. The organization will provide various opportunities for students to further their interest and professionalism in the field of emergency medicine. The organization will have the responsibility of: Provide further emergency medicine education; Encourage excitement for the field of emergency medicine; Participate in national emergency medicine related organizations

Family Medicine Interest Group

Purpose Statement: 

The purpose of this organization is to promote interest in the field of Family Medicine, provide educational and networking opportunities, and support students pursuing careers in primary care through mentorship, hands-on experiences, and community outreach.

General Surgery Interest Group

Purpose Statement: 

The purpose of BUCOM General Surgery Interest Group is to provide an inclusive organization for medical students with the mission to prepare future physicians who are committed to improving the diverse populations of the Mid-South region of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi. We are a passionate community of medical students dedicated to exploring the dynamic and rewarding field of obstetrics and gynecology. Our mission is to foster a deeper understanding of this specialty and to inspire future leaders in obstetrics and gynecology.

Radiology Interest Group

Purpose Statement:

The BUCOM Radiology Interest Group is dedicated to fostering a deeper understanding of radiology by promoting excellence in education, research, and patient-centered care. Rooted in the principles of osteopathic medicine, our organization seeks to advance the integration of radiology into holistic patient management while emphasizing quality, cost-effective health care. Aligned with Baptist Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine’s (BUCOM) mission, we strive to cultivate clinically skilled and compassionate future physicians who are prepared to serve diverse populations, particularly in the underserved urban and rural communities of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi. Through mentorship, hands-on experiences, and interdisciplinary collaboration, we aim to bridge the gap between radiology and other medical specialties, ensuring that our members develop a comprehensive approach to diagnostic imaging and patient care. Student American Association of Osteopathy

Purpose Statement: 

The Student American Academy of Osteopathy has been organized by students of accredited American osteopathic medical schools under the auspices and guidance of the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) for the purposes of helping osteopathic medical students and allopathic students interested in osteopathic medicine.

Student National Medical Association

Purpose Statement: 

To improve health outcomes by serving underprivileged populations within the Mid-south through acts of community service.  To promote the dissemination of educational information relative to minority issues in the field of osteopathic medicine.   To implement our diverse backgrounds to create an environment where professional excellence and moral principles can be displayed in medicine.   To utilize SNMA resources and networking opportunities to increase the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent, and socially conscious physicians. 

Student Osteopathic Internal Medical Association at BUCOM

Purpose Statement: 

Aims to represent aspiring osteopathic internists through early exposure to the field of internal medicine in affiliation with the American College of Osteopathic Internists.
