ABC 24 Spotlights Baptist Health Sciences University Faculty Shaping the Future of Care
ABC 24’s “Celebrate Memphis” series recently turned its lens on Baptist Health Sciences University to highlight two faculty leaders who are transforming health care in the Midsouth: Dr. Stephanie White from the College of Nursing and Dr. Lilian Nyindodo from the College of Osteopathic Medicine. The “Celebrate Memphis” series is focusing this month on health care professionals who are shaping the future of care across our city. Dr. White and Dr. Nyindodo were recognized for their leadership, clinical expertise, mentorship, and commitment to community outreach; impacts felt both within our university and throughout the Midsouth.
Dr. White talked about how she likes to combine mentorship with outreach, expanding a grassroots health initiative across Memphis while preparing the next generation of nurses at Baptist University College of Nursing. Although she’s passionate about community outreach, Dr. White says her students are at the heart of everything she does.

Dr. Nyindodo shared how she is mentoring future doctors and opening doors for students at Baptist University College of Osteopathic Medicine through hands-on programs as part of a push to diversify health care. While Dr. Nyindodo pursued her studies in molecular biology, she discovered that education offered another powerful way to create lasting change in health care.
