Nondiscrimination Policy

It is the policy of the college to maintain an academic environment free of discrimination, including harassment. Discrimination, harassment and retaliation based on race, color, national origin, ethnicity, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, religion or age are prohibited in the University's programs and activities.If you believe, you are a victim of discrimination, harassment  and/or retaliation you may contact Dr. Adonna Caldwell, Vice President of Administrative Services, Room 201-A, Collaboration Building, (901-572-2592 or [email protected]) and/or file a complaint using the University's grievance procedures. Information on the grievance procedures can be found in the Student Handbook, Faculty & Staff Handbook, and on the college intranet and website.

Dr. Tammy Fowler (Room 242, Campus Hub), Vice President for Enrollment Management & Student Affairs (VPEMSA) is the designated official responsible for the University's compliance efforts under the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The VPEMSA ensures that the University's facilities, programs and services are accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities. Nondiscrimination in accordance with the Affordable Care Act

It is the policy of Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation (“BMHCC”) and the entities affiliated with BMHCC not to discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, sex, or disability and BMHCC complies with applicable Federal civil rights laws. BMHCC does not exclude people or treat them differently because of race, color, national origin, age, sex, or disability.
In accordance with Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, BMHCC provides free aid and services to people with disabilities to communicate effectively with us, such as:

  • Qualified sign language interpreters
  • Written information in other formats (large print, audio, accessible electronic formats, other formats)
  • Language services to people whose primary language is not English, such as:
    • Qualified interpreters
    • Information written in other languages

BMHCC has developed an internal grievance procedure to receive, investigate, and resolve any complaints alleging actions that are prohibited by Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act. BMHCC will not tolerate any retaliation against anyone who opposes discrimination, files a grievance, or participates in the investigation of a grievance.
