Acute Care Adult-Gerontology I
This is a Level 2 course in the DNP program and the first of two advanced nursing theoretical courses for the preparation of the adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner. This course focuses on the adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner’s independent and inter-professional contributions to health, wellness, and health promotion among populations commonly served as well as the synthesis of critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills used by the APN to provide advanced nursing practice core competencies. Assessment, differential diagnosis, advanced diagnostics, and management of the adult and older-adult population experiencing complex, acute illnesses, and unstable conditions are examined.
