Behavioral System

This course introduces the neurobiological and behavioral foundations of psychiatric disorders, including developmental disorders, defense mechanisms, mood disorders, anxiety and stress-related conditions, substance use disorders, somatic symptom disorders, and psychoses. Emphasis is placed on ethical, legal, and social considerations that inform the diagnosis, pharmacological and non-pharmacological management, and understanding of mental health conditions.
