Immune and Dermatologic System

Foundational principles of immune system function and medical microbiology are presented. The instructional process then moves from healthy homeostasis to disease states. Introduction to the principles of trauma, inflammatory disorders, infections, and cancers as they relate to the immune system. Topical studies in immune responses to infections, immune deficiencies, hypersensitivity, tumors, transplantation rejection, and appropriate pharmacological interventions will be discussed. Finally, a focus on applying healthy, immune, and infectious disease processes to the integumentary system is provided.
