PCAG Clinical II

This is a Level 3 course in the DNP program and the second of two advanced nursing clinical experiences for the preparation of the adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. This course provides the nurse practitioner student the opportunity to develop and apply independent knowledge and skills in adult primary care. The focus is on refining assessment, diagnosis and treatment plans needed by the advance practice nurse to provide care from wellness to illness, including preventive, chronic and acute care for young adult, adult, and older adult patients and their families. Specialized advanced nursing skills in primary care are examined. The role of the adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner as a collaborative member of the inter-professional health care team will also be emphasized.
