Physician Core Competencies I

Development of the professional identity as an osteopathic physician. Instruction regarding appropriate patient / physician boundaries, boundary violations, ethics, professionalism, and self-care. Introduction to social determinants of health. Learners will work effectively with other students as a member or leader of a learning team, including group interactions with other health care professions in order to learn the importance of teamwork and inter professional collaboration. Introduction to the concept of self-directed learning. Modules will be included in the course to address burnout and fatigue mitigation. 1 credit hour theory
