Professional Nurs Role/Quality Care

Builds on professionalism and the values needed in the professional nurse role. Emphasis is on developing and applying leadership knowledge and skills needed to provide high quality and safe patient care. A portion of the course focuses on the translation of current evidence and how the evidence is applied to nursing practice. Informatics and technology are integrated throughout the course. Clinical experiences provide students with opportunities to coordinate care for individuals and families within and across levels of care. The student works with leaders to understand the importance of health policy, finance, regulatory environments, and how these influence professional nursing practice. Four credit hours theory, two credit hours clinical. This course is for the RN-BSN student only. Prerequisites: NSG 335 and NSG 451.
