Inter-Professional Health Care Case Study Challenge Winners!

Baptist College case study challenge team

Congratulations to the students and faculty from Baptist College for winning the inaugural Baptist College/CBU Inter-Professional Health Care Case Study Challenge. Dr. David Rosenthal, professor and chair of health care management, hosted the competition on Nov 14th, held on the CBU campus in Memphis, TN. The competition was created to foster and promote academic excellence, collaboration, and collegiality among and between the students at Baptist College and Christian Brothers University. The case study at the center of this event was designed to address specific aspects of care and care-coordination between the public and private health care sectors, as it relates to a fictitious outbreak of influenza in Memphis and Shelby County.

The Baptist College team included five students from across our three academic divisions, and the team was coached by two nursing faculty members, Dr. Cathy Stepter and Dr. Rita West.  The panel of six judges for the competition was comprised of local, regional, and statewide experts in public health, primary care, and health systems integration.  The 2016 competition will be held at Baptist College next fall.
