Student Spotlight: Emma Grace Pecha Earns DAISY Award

Emma Grace Pecha Earns DAISY Award

Emma Grace Pecha, a Doctor of Nursing Practice student at Baptist Health Sciences University, is being recognized for the compassionate care she provides to patients and families in the Memphis community.

Emma, who is enrolled in the DNP Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) track and plans to graduate this December, recently received the prestigious DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at Saint Francis Healthcare. The international DAISY Award honors nurses who demonstrate extraordinary compassion and clinical skill in caring for patients. Emma was nominated after helping a Memphis family while their loved one was hospitalized.

Created by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, the DAISY Award recognizes nurses around the world who exemplify the profession’s highest values, including integrity, compassion, and excellence in patient care. Nominations come from patients, families, and colleagues who wish to recognize nurses who make a meaningful difference during difficult moments.

Emma’s recognition reflects the dedication and empathy that define nursing practice and the commitment to patient-centered care emphasized at Baptist Health Sciences University. As she continues her doctoral studies and prepares to graduate later this year, Emma is already making a lasting impact on the patients and families she serves.
