Baptist University Visits Union City for Lunch and Learn Event

On July 1, 2025, Baptist University traveled to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City for a special Lunch and Learn event. The gathering offered Baptist employees and alumni the chance to learn more about Baptist Health Sciences University (BHSU) and connect with university leadership, including President Dr. Hampton Hopkins.
Skipper Bondurant, chief executive officer and administrator of Baptist Union City, joined the event and proudly showed his BHSU spirit by wearing a Hartley pin on his blazer. Hartley, the university mascot, also made a lively appearance, bringing extra energy and fun to the occasion.
During the session, Bondurant shared exciting news about clinical education opportunities, announcing that OMS-III students will soon have the option to complete clinical residency program rotations at Baptist Union City.
“It was a pleasure to bring some BHSU school spirit to our Baptist family at Union City,” stated Zac Cox, Relationship Marketing Coordinator.
Dr. Hopkins and Allison Flynn, Director of Admissions, led a Q&A with attendees, addressing questions about the university’s foundation endowment, HOSA involvement, campus safety, the new College of Osteopathic Medicine, and employee benefits. They also highlighted tuition discounts and other perks available to Baptist team members and their dependents pursuing degrees at BHSU.
“It felt like home,” shared Megan Munoz, a 2022 Nuclear Medicine graduate, reflecting on her time at BHSU. “And it still feels like home. I loved having the opportunity to stay within the Baptist family.”
